Elizabeth Rose Kendall, long-time resident of both Monticello and Port Jervis, NY, passed away suddenly on January 5, 2024, at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. She was surrounded by her adoring family, Duane, Rob, and Mary. She was 75 years old.
Daughter of Isidore and Mary Giovanniello, she was born on July 21, 1948, at New York Hospital in Manhattan. She spent her early childhood years in Brooklyn, NY, before Isidore and Mary moved their young family upstate to Port Jervis, NY.
She graduated from SUNY Oneonta with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and English, then went on to have a lifelong career as the Data Administrator with the Monticello Central School District.
Elizabeth loved trips to the beach, photography, and going to the theatre. But she found the most joy in her life simply by spending time with friends, family, dear former co-workers and college classmates, her devoted husband of 54 years, Duane, and her beloved grandson, Liam.
She is survived by her husband Duane Kendall, son Robert Kendall, daughter Mary Kendall and her partner Anthony Rolla, grandson Liam Garcia, brother Rocco Giovanniello and his wife AnnMarie, brother Dominic Giovanniello and his wife Jill, sister Anna Drapala, sister-in-law Dale Clukies and her partner Jerry Goldman, brother-in-law Donald Kendall and his wife Barbara, aunt Antonia Helzer, and mother Mary Giovanniello, age 97. She was also a beloved cousin, aunt and great-aunt to her many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her father, Isidore Giovanniello, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Evelyn Kendall, brother-in-law, Steven Drapala, and many adoring aunts and uncles.
Elizabeth was a beautiful soul and to know her was to love her. Our lives have been forever touched by her loving kindness and will not be the same without her.
