Fallsburg Engagement Day set for May 14

Posted

Right after the successful Ice Skating Event on March 26, the organizers began meeting to create a Family Engagement Day for Fallsburg residents for Saturday, May 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Junior Senior High School, 115 Brickman Road, Fallsburg.

On April 6, FCSD Board of Education Community Relations Committee hosted a meeting chaired by Superintendent Dr. Ivan Katz, Assistant Superintendent Dr. Sally Sharkey, My Brother’s Keeper Program, the Student Government Association, the Wellness Committee, the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) at the JSHS, and the Parent Teacher Association at BCES. Rolling V Bus Company was one of the sponsors as well.

That first meeting set the tone for an ambitious array of events, delicious food and soft drinks, and a multitude of games including a basketball tournament in the parking lot on the west side of the front entrance. Rolling V will provide bus service to and from the event at two routes shown on the flier attached to this notice.

Some of the special features are a snake and reptile show, puppet-making, a dunk tank, empanandas, barbecue burgers and hot dogs, bike raffle and other prizes, and tie-dye shirts. There will be arts and crafts for all ages and much more. The emphasis is on fun and family participation to honor our fantastic Fallsburg community. For more information, contact (845) 434-6800, ext. 1223.
