SULLIVAN COUNTY –– The New York State County Treasurers’ and Finance Officers Association (NYSCTFOA) annual conference was recently held in Sullivan County, welcoming 70 guests.

County Treasurer Nancy Buck is currently the association’s president.

Festivities started on Sunday, August 7 with dinner at Resorts World Catskills, and ended Wednesday, August 10.

Sullivan County Legislative Chairman Rob Doherty, NYS Assemblywoman Aileen Gunther and NYS Senator Mike Martucci welcomed attendees on Monday morning, prior to the start of classes.

At Monday’s dinner at the Eldred Preserve, NYS Comptroller Tom DiNapoli was the guest speaker, talking about the current state of the NYS Pension system, as well as other items.

One of the classes featured a member of the NYS Comptroller’s Office  who discussed fraud, while others included how to effectively and creatively present your data in a meaningful way, ARPA rules and regulations, cyber security, Surrogates (all the members are Public Administrator’s for their Counties) etc., all geared to attendees’ jobs as their respective county’s chief fiscal officers.

After classes some attendees played golf, went to the Museum at Bethel Woods, went rafting down the Delaware and visited one of the many local breweries and distilleries.

"It was great having my peers from all over the State come to Sullivan County,” said Buck, “and truly enjoy a few days experiencing continued education and some of the beautiful sites that we have to offer.”
