The Kauneonga Lake Indoor Market, held March 29 at the Duggan School in Bethel, showcased approximately two dozen vendors of products ranging from jewelry, soaps, coffee, and salad greens to exotic mushrooms. An Easter Bunny giving out colored eggs and the musical duo Fisher and Dean were also present.
There will be two more indoor markets this spring on April 26 and May 31 at the Duggan School.
Meet the vendors
A portion of the profits from the sales of organic micro-roasted coffees by Baby & Mothman Coffee, LLC is donated to the ASPCA and a rescue organization Hard Hats Cats. Most of their coffee is whole bean French Roast, Donut Shop, and Ethiopian Yugacheffe.
Their ground mushroom coffee, a blend of Brazilian, peaberry, and hazelnut is popular. Their products are also sold in Better World Coffee Shop in Milford, Pa., and in Breathless Raw Live Juice Bar in Port Jervis. Contact them at BABYANDMOTHMANCOFFEE.com and at Babyandmothmancoffee@gmail.com.
Flowering Sun Ecology Center carries a variety of mushrooms including lion’s mane, beech, enoki, golden and black oyster, and coral tooth. They also carry mushroom honey made with an ultrasonic technology that increases the bioavailability of extracted medicinal compounds from mushrooms. Other products include cordyceps extract and lion’s mane powder.

Kelly Elizabeth HHP sells essential oils, bath salts, hand soap, cannabis soap, sea sponges from Florida, bamboo combs, and strengthening lash serum made with castor oil and vitamins. Yemallah Naturals grows and harvests herbal ingredients at Moor Acres, a 13.07 acre farm in Callicoon. Yemallah’s products include magnesium butter (for arthritis and migraines), mango butter (for eczema, psoriasis, and acne), sage smudge sticks and moor forest magic soap (a blend of mango, castor oil, rosemary, thyme, and calendula). Hassina Brodie at Sina’s Fine Art sells colorful acrylic paintings depicting faces of owls, portraits of pets on magnets, abstract collages, and custom portraits of pets and people. Sticky Fingers Delectables, owned by James Loney, offers soups, stews and ice cream (exclusively during the summer). The 30 types of soups are highly nutritious, dense recipes “meant to knock you off your rocker.” A favorite is Nova Scotian chicken mulligatawaney stew that is a family recipe. Open seven days a week 2 p.m. - 10 p.m. between Memorial Day and Labor Day and fewer hours during the winter, they are located at 10 Horseshoe Lake Road in Kauneonga Lake. Monteleone Hydrofarm Gardens, owned by Phyllis and Frank Monteleone, is located at 582 State Rte 55, Eldred, NY. It grows and sells lettuces (Boston, Iceberg, Romaine, Oakleaf), Curly and Tuscan kale, Arugula, large leaf basil, and Foranti tomatoes. Everything is sprouted from seed and grown on trays in a 75’ x 45’ greenhouse where watering is done by a nutrient film technique. The retail store is open year-round Thursday – Sunday.
