God was listening to all the people this week who prayed for the recovery of Buffalo Bills Damar Hamlin.

Hamlin was injured during the first quarter of the Monday night game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

After taking a hit directly to the chest while tackling wide receiver Tee Higgins, Hamlin at first got up but almost immediately collapsed back down to the ground.

As reported by Liz Roscher of Yahoo Sports Hamlin then went into cardiac arrest on the field and paramedics who rushed over had to restart his stopped heart and then administer CPR for nearly 10 minutes before he could be loaded into the ambulance which had driven right onto the field.

Roscher reported that “15 minutes elapsed between Hamlin's injury and the ambulance driving away.”

Roscher noted in her report that the scene was chaotic and emotional and many were openly crying as they watched Hamlin receive “life-saving CPR.”

Bills head  coach Sean McDermott and multiple players along with Hamlin's mother went to the hospital to be with Hamlin.

The Yahoo  sports reporter noted that the Buffalo team didn't get back to Buffalo until 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Physicians Wednesday and Thursday said that Hamlin had been responsive to questions and commands and had even been asking questions of his own, writing questions with a pen and paper.

During a news conference Wednesday the doctors made a point to say that the lightning-quick  response from the Bills and Bengals doctors and medical personnel on the field saved Hamlin's life and preserved his neurological function.

The Bills practiced Thursday after a call from Hamlin's father.

Liz Roscher of Yahoo Sports reported that the "Bills have been through a lot but Thursday they were full of positive news about Hamlin's health.

The Bill's trainers and medical staff get a big atta boy for their immediate and remarkable response, giving the medics, doctors and nurses at the hospital the chance to do their part as  well.

The Bills sports organization noted that  Hamlin comes from a family of faith and has had teammates and coaches surrounding him in non-stop prayers and that thousands of believers and caring people in general have been at his side from moment one
