Hummingbirds honored

The Liberty NY Rotary Club usually holds a brunch to honor their Hummingbird Award recipients. But this year, they changed things up, partnering with the Sullivan O&W Rail Trail Alliance, for a day of events at the Hurleyville Rail Trail.

Following the Alliance’s National Trails Day Kickoff, the Liberty NY Rotary Club held their Hummingbirds Walk for Clean Water.

First, seven new Hummingbird Award recipients were honored. They were … Foster Supply Hospitality, Judy Siegel, Terry Grafmuller, B.A.T.S. for Veterans, Tony Marmo, Peter Sullivan and the Monticello High School Boys and Girls Club Keystone Club.

Then, teams of four or individuals participated in the Walk for Clean Water. Part of the trail was marked to the approximate distance someone in Haiti must walk to get clean water for their family, something many of us are fortunate enough to only be a few steps away from.

All event proceeds benefitted the Liberty NY Rotary Club’s Haiti Clean Water Program. For more info, visit libertynyrotary.org.
