Idioms for a Hypocrite

It's amazing when sayings, quotes or idioms show true when talking about or how you treat others when taught differently. Like ‘give enough rope to hang yourself', ‘digging yourself into a hole you won't get out of', ‘you are your own worst enemy', ‘practice what you preach' or ‘if you have nothing good to say then say nothing at all'.

I refer to Lifelines Kathy Werner's column of February 12, 2021, a reprint of hers from February 14, 2008 ‘I'm glad you're mine' which is a Valentine's Day thank you to her parents. It's a very nice thank you for everything they did for her, lessons instilled in her and taught her how to be.

Kathy wrote: ‘But mostly, thanks for teaching me the great lessons of life. Respect for your elders, Accept people for who they are and (skip to) Be kind.' ‘And realize that love is not finite; it increases as we welcome each new person into our lives' which says ‘no hate here'.

I wonder where she had time, since the reprint, not to mention the time living these lessons, to forget those teachings instilled in her for decades. So much for all those great lessons she learned that were just ‘thrown out the window' when it came to POTUS #45. Several columns of hers going at him like a rabid shark on steroids.

What happened to Respect your elders - GONE, Accept people for who - GONE, Be kind - GONE, Love - GONE and from the above Idioms ‘IF you have nothing good to say'…All Blown to Smithereens!

Lincoln said “You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.” Kathy, you don't fool us and you're a Hypocrite.
