On Monday, November 30, 2020, at the age of 30 Jailyn Mia Flecha, loving daughter, sister, cousin, friend, and mother of two beautiful children and three wonderful stepchildren, was taken from this world and passed on to the next.

Jailyn was born on September 4, 1990 in Baltimore, MD to Angelo and Evelyn Flecha. Seven years later Angelo and Evelyn bought a house in Callicoon, NY where they made a good life for Jailyn and her two brothers. She spent her summers swimming, fishing, and camping and her winters sledding and playing in the snow. She attended Delaware Valley Central School and Sullivan West High School where she played softball, sang in the chorus and made lifelong friends. She graduated from Sullivan West High School in 2007 and continued her education at the Delaware Valley Job Corp where she took classes towards a business administration degree and attended Le Cordon Bleu culinary school.

A lot like her mother Jailyn loved to laugh, joke, listen to music and dancing. She was the life of the party, her smile was infectious, and she lightened up a room. Jailyn had a passion for cooking just like her father and embraced her Puerto Rican heritage and loved to prepare meals for her family and friends whenever she could. She enjoyed hosting get togethers and holiday dinners. It didn't matter who you were her door was always open. Whether someone needed a hot meal, a place to stay or just a friend to talk to Jailyn was always there. She was a beautiful, compassionate, loving, caring soul who lived her life for her children and her love for her family and friends ignited her heart. Her journey on this earth was like a rock thrown into a pond; the smallest drop creating ripples through the entire pond. In her short time on this earth Jailyn touched the lives of so many individuals and every ripple she created will live on in everyone who loved her.

The last few years of her life were not easy with the loss of her mother and other struggles of the world, but she was a fighter and put one foot in front of the other battling on with dignity and courage. She was taken from this world too soon and will be greatly missed as evident in the deep sorrow and pain in the hearts of her family and friends of her passing.

In heaven Jailyn joins her mother Evelyn, cousin Danny, Tio Lefty, maternal grandmother Anna, and paternal grandmother Eva. She leaves behind her children, Illiana six, Isaiah five, and her three stepchildren Ian, Elijah and Ananda, her father Angelo, brothers John and Angelo, nephews Gabriel, John and Terance and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday December 12, 2020 from 12pm-4pm at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 NY 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788. Social distancing guidelines will be in place, please wear a mask. Donations and flowers may be sent to Angelo Flecha at 60 Haddock Road, Monticello NY 12701 or www.gofundme.com/f/our-angels-christmas-wish.
