James P. McAneney of Swan Lake, NY, a retired Control Operator for ConEd in New York City, died Friday, April 5, 2024 at his home. He was 87.
The son of the late James G. and Margaret M. Donohue McAneney, he was born October 20, 1936 in Brooklyn, NY.
James had been a Communicant of St. Anthony-St. Alphonsos Church in Brooklyn and St. Peter’s Church in Liberty, NY.
Survivors include two daughters, Deborah Rusin of Swan Lake, NY and Maryanne March and her husband Frank of Swan Lake, NY; six grandchildren, John Rusin and his wife Jaime, Steven Rusin and his wife Rita, Nicholas Rusin and his wife Katie, Morgan Sobel, Jesse March and his wife Kyla, Sarah Vazquez and her husband Dylan; and nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Dolores O’Connor McAneney, one daughter, Diane Sobel and one sister, Patricia McAneney.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 10 AM at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 264 North Main Street, Liberty, NY. Father Edward Bader will officiate.
Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery, White Sulphur Springs, NY with a celebration of his life to follow.
