On July 20, 2022, James (Jimmy) Warren Weeks, age 83, of Damascus, Pennsylvania, took his final lap to win the checkered flag on his way to Heaven to meet his idol Dale Earnhardt.

Born February 10, 1939 to Anna and Edward Weeks, “Jim Dandy,” as he was fondly known, started racing at a very early age at Freeport Raceway in Freeport, New York; and continued racing his beloved car #33 in White Lake.

Jimmy owned an auto repair business where he could diagnose and fix almost any problem on any car. He found pride in repairing a car that was about to be declared undriveable and headed to the junkyard.

As an avid hunter and fisherman, Jimmy spent time with his grandchildren teaching them the art of those sports and how to have fun as they learned.

As a local school bus driver for Delaware Valley and First Student Bus companies, Jimmy enjoyed taking many of your children to school every day for some 30 years. The kids loved him and he loved watching them grow up.

Jimmy was a lifelong member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge, #279, Rockville Centre, New York. He also served with the Equinunk Volunteer Fire Department.

In addition to his parents and sister Evelyn Donnelly, Jimmy was preceded in death by the love of his life and best friend Patricia (Pat). The couple enjoyed 34 years of marriage until her death in 2014.

He is survived by brothers Carl Weeks of Rockville Center, New York, and Edward Weeks (Lynne) of Clay, New York; daughters Debbie Everly (Peter) of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Penny Weeks Lynch of Port Jervis, New York, Bonnie Schanil (Tony) of Long Eddy, New York; grandchildren Dustin Lynch (Ashley), Drew Lynch, Tyler Lynch, Kevin Everly (Paola), Elise Everly, Michelle Berner, Leann Rhodes, and Adam Hutchinson, along with many nieces and nephews and several great-grandchildren; and a special caring friend Alice Scott.

Please join Jimmy’s family and friends for a Drop-In Celebration of Life from 1 to 3 p.m. on August 27, 2022 at the Callicoon Brewery, 15 Upper Main Street, Callicoon, New York.

Monetary donations in Jimmy’s name can be made to: Blessings Food Pantry, 9290 NY 97, Callicoon, New York 12723. To leave a condolence please visit stewartmurphyfh.com 845-887-4900
