Sometimes in life, things happen that we cannot make sense of, and so, it is with the sincerest regret, that we inform you that Javon Islam entered into eternal rest on May 22, 2023. Javon was just 17 years old.

It is not often that you come across a 17 year old that has touched so many lives in so many big ways. His family, friends, and community are in a state of utter disbelief and extreme sorrow. To navigate this uncharted territory, we will lean on each other and unite in the love that we all share for Javon.

Javon was special, to put it mildly. He was unique in the best ways. He was reserved but would make you think he had wisdom beyond his years. He appeared to be soaking in his surroundings, to later freestyle about everything he just took in. He was disciplined, resilient, and coachable; making him one of the best teammates! Combine that with his kind soul, and you could understand why so many teammates became best friends! He had a respect for his friends that was indescribable and unwavering. He was quirky and was able to laugh at himself. You could find him playing catch most days, it didn’t matter much if it was football or baseball. Sadly, this left little time for joining a science club. But no worries, he was deemed the “hot potato champion” by Coach and loved Star Wars and Marvel!

Left to carry on his memory are his adoring parents, Teresa Fredenburgh and Kareem Islam, siblings Kristina Fredenburgh, Jamar Islam, Jasiah Fredenburgh, Taqueya Breland, Kyisha Davenport, Quantasia Islam, Aamori Islam and several grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a nephew. Javon also leaves behind a large group of loyal friends, including his devoted best friend, Cody Ricco.

A life so beautiful deserves to be remembered in a beautiful way. We hope that you will join us in our grief in saying a final farewell to Javon. Services will be held at Harris Funeral Home, West Street at Buckley, Liberty, NY on Friday, June 2, from 2-6PM. A service will begin at 4:30 PM and Rev. Paul Minton will officiate.

In memory of Javon, we ask that you embrace your loved ones a little longer, be the best friend you can be always, don’t sweat the small stuff, and when you are a part of something, give it your all!

“Until we meet again…bro!” #23 #4
