Jay F. Meddaugh, SR, formerly of Kauneonga Lake, NY, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 19th, 2023 at home, in Charlotte, NC, surrounded by family.

He was born at home in Kauneonga Lake, NY, son of the late Vinton and Rose Meddaugh. He was one of 7 children, the late Carol Menck , Mary Stratton, the late Glen Meddaugh and Judy Meddaugh, Terry Epstein and Marjorie Rosen.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Meddaugh, his children Valerie Reynolds and significant other James Beaux, Jayne Fischer and spouse Drew Fischer and Jay F. Meddaugh, Jr. and significant other Heidi Reimer. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tyler Fischer and wife Amber, Carli Leverton and husband Dan, Luke Fischer, Tori Reynolds and significant other Patrick Gibbons, Lexi Reynolds and significant other Zack Slavin and Cole Fischer. Jay also had one great-granddaughter, Isla Rose Leverton. He also had many nieces and nephews.

His favorite pastimes were motorcycle rides in the country, meeting friends at Tillie’s diner, bass fishing, listening to country music, telling stories of his life and laughing a lot. He never met a stranger and was loved by everyone who knew him.

He was a lifetime member of the Kauneonga Lake Volunteer Fire Department, member of the Sullivan County ATV Association, NYS Bass Association and a Veteran of the U.S. Army.

Service was held on Monday at 11:00 A.M. at our residence Overture Providence, 6805 Walnut Branch Lane, Charlotte, NC 28277.
