Jean E. Wagner, of Liberty, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2022 in Wantage, NJ. She was 90 years old.
She was the daughter of the late William Weghorst and Catherine Lerch, born on January 28, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY.
Jean worked as a teacher’s aide for BOCES until her retirement. In her free time, she enjoyed keeping her hands and her mind busy with needlepoint, reading, and completing puzzles in her puzzle book. Jean loved animals and would enjoy pet sitting for her family. Above everything else she loved spending time with her family making memories that will last forever in their hearts. She was a devoted Catholic and was a communicant at St. Peter’s Church. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend; she will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
She is survived by her children James Barbehenn and his wife Katye of Liberty, NY, Brenda Ban and her husband Bernd of Wantage, NJ, Barbara Wagner of Punxsutawney, PA, John Wagner and his wife Shannon of Harris, NY; grandchildren Tara, Robert, John Robert, Jamie, Sean, Kim, Chris and Jeremiah; eleven great-grandchildren; siblings Doris LaLande, Marion Smith, Thomas Weghorst and Robert McDonald. She now joins in Heaven her first husband William Barbehenn and her second husband James Wagner; as well as seven brothers and sisters.
She was predeceased by her husband James Wagner, her first husband William Barbehenn and seven brothers and sisters.

Funeral services were held privately at the convenience of the family with a celebration Mass at St. Mary’s in Obernburg, NY.
