The matriarch of the Egan family has gone Home to be with her husband, brother and five children that predeceased her.

Mom, grandma, great-grandma, aunt and friend to so many. She was a member of St. Francis Church in Youngsville, a founding member of the Jeffersonville Ambulance Corps, Youngsville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Boy and Girl Scout Leader and a WWII Veteran of the British Army, where she met her husband John in 1941. She immigrated to America on the Queen Mary with two boys under the age of two. They came to Youngsville in 1946 and raised their eight children. Jean was known as Mom and Grandma Egan to the entire community. She will be missed by so many.

Jean is survived by her four children Tina Egan Haszard, Trevor Egan (Melinda), Elizabeth Huggler (Ralph), Jennifer Wilson Berglas (Kenny), eighteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. And her extended family Janet Egan, BJ Young, and Doris Garritt. She was predeceased by her husband John, and by her children Pamela Mary, John S. Egan, Bridget Lounsbury, Kelly Egan and Frank Egan.

Visitation was held on Thursday, January 13, 2022 from 4 to 8 PM at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, Jeffersonville, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis Church, Youngsville, NY. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Youngsville, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Jeffersonville Volunteer First Aid Squad or the Youngsville Fire Department.
