Bring your own pole and bait. Cash or check only as they do not accept cards. They are open on Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 5 pm from now until Labor Day.

The Easter Bunny is hopping over to “Cuppie Cake Desserts” (Main Street, Jeffersonville) on April 19 for a free photo event! There will be adorable Easter egg treats for the first 100 kiddos and, of course, a stocked case full of Easter themed goodies too!

The Hortonville Volunteer Fire Company is having their Annual Takeout BBQ Chicken Dinner on Sunday, April 27 with pickups beginning at 2pm and ending at 4pm. Cost is $15/dinner. Drive thru pickup at the Firehouse and have a delicious dinner while supporting your volunteers! Get tickets from one of their firemen.

The White Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church is offering a bus trip to “Noah” on June 18 and 19 with the bus leaving at 4:30pm on the 18th. Cost is $137/person for the bus and your ticket to the show. Hotel cost is $142 for a single and double, $153 for a triple, $164 for a quad and $173 for family suite with children under 18 free. The 4-H Moo Juicers are selling Mother’s Day assorted 10” hanging flower baskets for $20/basket courtesy of “Outside Matters.” Sale ends April 27. Reminder! Foxes do not prey on domestic pets or children! Their main diet is varmints, eggs, and sometimes roadkill. Please do not hurt or trap them, which is illegal. They are looking for a safe place to have their kits soon. If you do happen on a den, stay back, and watch the babies play. I have done that in the past and it is a beautiful sight.

Brake for wildlife! It is the season of tiny travelers too! It is turtle travel time. They are crossing roads and paths to reach safe spots to lay eggs. If you see one on the road, gently help it across in the direction it is already heading. That is important – they know where they want to go to nest.

A “Spring Makers Market” an event sponsored by The Farmhouse Project and Sullivan Catskills is being held at Callicoon Hills (located at 1 Hills Resort Road, Callicoon Center) May 3 and 4 from  11am to  5pm. Come out and explore the beautiful grounds and historic barn, enjoy live music, and savor delicious food & beverages while browsing over 65 hand-selected artisans!
