December 3 - A great big “Thank You” to all of the Fire and EMS apparatus and marchers, adults and children both walking and on the beautifully decorated floats and trucks that braved the horrible cold weather at the James Dworetsky Holiday Parade last Friday!
The cold was almost unbearable, but the Parade carried on thanks to all of the volunteers that helped to make it a success once more for all of the families to enjoy. There were many trucks decorated with lots of lights and marchers handing out lots of candy too. Santa was fun for the children with gifts and free hot chocolate with cake pops compliments of the Jeff Bake Shop. A special night to bring in the holiday season!
The Domesticities & The Cutting Garden, located at 4055 State Route 52, Youngsville has Winter Hours from now until New Year’s Eve: Friday and Saturday 11-5, Sunday 11-4 and Monday from 11-5.
In Jeffersonville “shop local” will continue through the month of December! On Saturday, December 4th at 10 a.m. the 1st Presbyterian Church Cookie Sale will take place until they are sold out. At the Secret Garden you will receive a free Christmas ornament with your purchase (made at the Catskill Country Ceramic Shop) limited to one per customer per day, while supplies last and Christmas Coupons too!

Cards need to be back to the library by December 18th. Check their website for more information www.wsplonline.org. The Stone Arch Inn (located at 5371 State Route 52 in Kenoza Lake) is holding a Holiday Party featuring a Toy Drive to benefit children attending the Sullivan West school district beginning at 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 11th. Please only unwrapped toys. Free food, live music and you can sing along too! Your donated toys may be left on the side porch any time prior to December 11.
Mark your calendars!

In Further Retrospect includes something for everyone, presenting vignettes of Sullivan County’s history from colonial times to the 21st century, and including stories from virtually every corner of the County.
The Youngsville Firecrackers (a Cornell Extension Community Group) is having their Annual Sock Drive. There are boxes placed in the Jeff Pharmacy and The Secret Garden. Please help our community by providing a donation of a pair or package of new socks, mittens, gloves, hats or scarves for young or the older people. They will be collecting items until December 9th. Any questions, please contact Carla Dworetsky at (845) 482-4588.
There is a “Toys for Tots” box in the lobby of the Jeff Bank also collecting unwrapped toys for the children. Please bring a toy in for those less fortunate.
