December 10 - In Jeffersonville” shop local” will continue through the month of December! Catskill Country Ceramics (located on the same side as the Jeff Bank and down a couple of doors) will offer a variety of kits of boxed holiday ornaments and other ceramics ready for you to paint for yourself or to give as a gift for them to enjoy painting during the holidays. Call 845-482-3651 for more info. Open Wednesdays thru Saturdays from 10-4. The Secret Garden will give you a free Christmas ornament with your purchase (made at the Catskill Country Ceramic Shop) with a limit of one per customer per day, (while supplies last) and Christmas Coupons, too during the month of December. Samba (located across from the Jeff Pharmacy) offers 90% off all books and 50% off all Holiday merchandise.
The Western Sullivan Public Library is holding its second annual “Holiday Card Shower” to help spread joy to fellow community members in nursing homes and adult care centers in Sullivan County. In addition to The Sullivan County Adult Care Center at Sunset Lake and Achieve Rehab Nursing Facility, holiday cards will be created for two additional facilities: Roscoe Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and Jeffersonville Senior Living Home. Help “Shower” residents in local nursing homes and care centers with Holiday Cards by visiting WSPL’s Festive Holiday Card Making Craft Station to make some cards or to pick up your holiday card making kit. Return your carefully crafted card by December 18th for delivery to the facilities. Don’t forget Saturday, Dec. 11th at 1 p.m. go to the Secret Garden, located at 4917 State Route 52, Jeffersonville, hear John Conway, the author, discuss the topics covered in the book and join them for a great time! In Further Retrospect includes something for everyone, presenting vignettes of Sullivan County's history from colonial times to the 21st century, and including stories from virtually every corner of the County.
Sullivan Renaissance hosted a grant workshop for municipal officials interested in applying for grants in the 2022 programs. Representatives from 12 of the County’s 21 municipalities were in attendance. Four program areas will be emphasized in the 2022 Sullivan Renaissance Municipal Partnership Program: (1) Beautifying and Caring for Public Spaces; (2) Building Healthy Communities; (3) Enhancing Code Enforcement; and (4) Environmental Stewardship and Historic Preservation.
