Spring is here?? The robins and geese seem to think so! Forthright Cyder & Mead are re-opening April 1st, with the Tasting Room open Fridays from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. (located at 4052 – State Route 52 in Youngsville) They are Fam-friendly, Pups and Outside Food is Welcome too.

Sullivan Renaissance will present a free Gardening Series for beginners and enthusiasts alike in April, June and September. The series kicks off on April 6th with “Spring Clean Up & Planning New Gardens” at 6p.m. via zoom. This workshop will focus on early gardening tasks to help you prepare for the season or plan a new garden.

The series continues on June 1 with tips for how to plant the perfect garden; and the “thriller, filler spiller” technique for planting containers that will be last the season. On September 7 start “Planning for Fall and Planting Bulbs.” Maintenance tips will share throughout the series.

All sessions are free but pre-registration is requested. To register, visit SullivanRenaissance.org. Event details can also be found on the Sullivan Renaissance Facebook page. Participants are encouraged to register for all three sessions.

The Jeffersonville Area Chamber of Commerce 5K Sap Run is officially on!!!! It will be held on Saturday, May 14th. They are excited to have it back and look forward to seeing everyone cross that finish line. The following link takes you to the registration forms to print and mail or to register online.

This year the 5K Sap Run is helping to raise awareness and help support the Service Dogs for Vets with PTSD Program offered by Action Toward Independence in Sullivan County. This program helps pair a Veteran with a compatible dog from local shelters. The dog along with the Veteran will go through a series of training to become a service dog. Service dogs provide much needed emotional support for our Veterans.

If you would like to contribute to this, both the downloadable registration form and online registration will give you the choice. It is an additional $5.00 per registration and you will receive a special shirt.

The Jeffersonville Farmers Market starts on Sundays from May 22nd until October 9th and will be located adjacent to the Jeffersonville Bake Shop. The Farmers Market welcomes, not only farmers and makers who participated in the Market last year, but also some new faces and interesting ideas...let’s grow this community event!
