Don’t forget the Protection Hose Company No.1 is holding their 21st Annual Chicken Barbecue at their firehouse on Main Street  on Sunday, March 26th from 1-4 p.m. Takeouts only at $13.00 each. Stop by the firehouse on a Thursday night to get your tickets or try to catch up with a firefighter!

The Kenoza Lake Hummingbirds 4-H Club will be hosting the fundraiser “Jump For A Cause”. They set a goal for the number of Jumping Jacks to be completed and collect donations for completing their goal. All donations will be donated to Ride 2 Survive- Sullivan County. They can complete their jumping jacks wherever there is enough room to jump! All donations are due to the Kenoza Lake Hummingbirds by March 31st. Join the Woodland Weavers and Spinners on Tuesday, March 14th from 3:00 - 6:00p.m. at the Western Sullivan Public Library - Delaware Free Branch (located at 45 Lower Main Street, Callicoon). People of all ages, take time to join the Woodland Weavers & Spinners Guild and learn the ancient art of spinning yarn! The Guild will be set up with their spinning wheels, drop spindles and all the roving one can dream of. Join them to witness the ladies turn roving into yarn - and all the crafty things we can do from there! FMI: 845-887-4040. One of the demonstrators is Lisa Rose, also a very important volunteer with the JEMS beautification group in Jeffersonville. 

Mark your calendar! It’s time to get involved with Jeffersonville’s 5K Sap Run on Saturday, May 20th. The event  starts at 9a.m.The race is USATF Certified: NY15094JG and runners and walkers are welcome. Registration is now open. Find all the details and registration forms and online registration at https://jeffersonvilleny.com/5ksaprun/. Day of registration and race packet pick-up starts at 7 a.m. and will be located in the Backyard Park. Awards: Top 3 Overall Female and Male runners; 1st, 2nd, and 3rd  in each  group; Walkers overall male and female; Teams Male and Female and mixed.

Hope to see everyone at the Pancake Breakfast at the Youngsville Fire Department this Sunday! They will be serving their all you can eat delicious family style pancakes, eggs, sausage, and locally made maple syrup from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Adults and children $10 and children under 5 free. Bring your friends and family out for a tasty time, supporting our volunteer firefighters at the same time!

Seems old man Winter has returned to remind all of us “It’s not over yet”. Please drive carefully!
