March 19 - Spring is coming! I saw a couple of robins by our home and more in front of the Kay's farm in the Beechwoods. What a great sight! Lots of red wing blackbirds too. Then, it decided to snow enough that the guys are sanding my road! Yikes!

Don't wait to contact a firefighter for your ticket(s) and help support your local volunteer Fire Department! The Protection Hose Company No. 1 of Jeffersonville is hosting their 19th Annual Chicken Barbecue at the Jeffersonville Catholic Church on Schoolhouse Road on Sunday, April 11th from 1-3p.m. Drive Thru Only with a donation of $10 each.

Beginning April 2nd and going live every Friday at 10a.m. until May 14th, there will be a series of videos released featuring houseplants. This series is meant to spark interest in long-term horticultural projects that can be continuously cared for and shown at the fair for several years.

Many popular houseplants will be featured including: succulents and cactus, air plants, aqua plants, with many others being covered. Local experts will make guest appearances in the video series and some fun horticulture related projects will be shown as well.

The videos will be released on the Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County Facebook page and YouTube channel. This series is free, open to the public and requires no registration. For more information contact Kaitlyn Conklin at krs257@ cornell.edu.

It's time for the parade! The Ancient Order of Hibernians Jeffersonville's Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade is being held this Saturday, with lineup at noon on Willy Avenue, and starting down Main Street led by the McPadden Pipes & Drums, Hudson Valley Regional Police Pipes & Drums, AOH Sullivan Brothers, our own Jeffersonville Protection Hose #1. Face coverings required and social distancing will be enforced.

Tickets are selling fast for a great night of entertainment with Al Russo, one of the best Frank Sinatra Tribute Singers you will ever get to enjoy! The event will be held Saturday, May 15th from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in Lulu's Social Club (over the Jeff Bake Shop-Main Street, Jeffersonville) Bill Gulino, pianist, will open the program followed by Mr. Russo.

Tickets are $40 and include Light Fare, a Sweet Bite and a glass of bubbly, wine, beer & non-alcoholic beverage will also be available for purchase. Limited to 50 presale tickets that can be purchased at The Secret Garden or by calling Sue at (845) 482-5354.
