The “Frank Sinatra” event hosted by the JEMS at LuLu’s Social Club (above the Jeff Bake Shop) last Saturday night, was a huge success!
When you went in to the room you felt like you were stepping back in time to a different era…several beautiful antique chairs, granite top antique tables and the gorgeous floral arrangements from the “Lilac Shade” floral shop, on each table made the setting perfect. The signature cocktails and delicious hors d’oeuvres were served to a full room of guests.
Frank Sinatra Tribute Singer Al Russo and Bill Gulino, pianist, perform favorites such as “Summer Wind”, “New York, New York”, “My Way” and many more. This year there was dancing for all guests in the beautiful elegant ballroom too. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves with thanks to Lauren, Courtney and staff.
24th Annual Delaware Youth Center River Run/Walk will be held on Sunday, July 24th. A flat, scenic, very fast course alongside the beautiful Delaware River - Great for an accurate personal record! Register for the 5K run or walk; or for a greater challenge, try the 10K distance! T-Shirts for the first 400 participants, so register early! Can’t attend this year but still want to join in the fun? Register for the Gary A. Winglovitz Virtual Run!
No matter what race you choose, all proceeds benefit the Delaware Youth Center. For the DYC 5K Run and Walk: Packet pick up days will be announced or you can pick up your packet before the race. Registration and same day packet pick up are at the Delaware Youth Center, 8 Creamery Road, Callicoon, NY on Saturday, July 23rd and Sunday, July 24th before the race. The starting line is in front of Pecks Market; the race is down River Road and back, ending at the US Post Office. Walkers start at 8:15 a.m. Runners (5K and 10K) will leave the starting line at 8:30 a.m.
Times will be based on chip time. Refreshments and medal ceremony will be held at the Delaware Youth Center after the race. For the Gary A. Winglovitz Virtual race: Choose your distance and choose your course. Run or walk anytime between July 17 and August 1. Share photos of your virtual run, and tag the Delaware Youth Center on social media.
Support the Delaware Youth Center from anywhere in the world! Packet pick up days will be announced. Want your packet mailed? Please add $5 donation to your registration to cover the cost. Want to record your time? You’ll receive an email about a week before the race with instructions, and a link to the results page to see how you placed. Don’t want to upload your time? That’s fine too!
The DYC wants to ensure all children have an opportunity to join in the River Run. If your child wants to participate but the cost of registration is a burden, they understand. Please contact them directly at 5k@delawareyouthcenter.org to receive a sponsored registration. If you would like to sponsor a child’s registration, please also contact them. All proceeds benefit the Delaware Youth Center.
