Thank you to George Rose and Bob Hert for placing mum plants and a pumpkin in front of each Main Street business, compliments of the JEMS beautification group. Much of the JEMS work is done by these two men, and we really appreciate their volunteering to help!

Love the warm Indian Summer days but hate the cold nights! Halloween is coming and I am sad to report the Halloween Parade and party at the Jeff Firehouse are both canceled for this year due to Covid.

The James Dworetsky Holiday Parade in November is canceled too. All of these events will hopefully return for next year bigger and better! No decision has been made concerning the Trunk or Treat at the Backyard Park in Jeffersonville at this time.

The Western Sullivan Public Library would love your input on WSPL services, programs, and role in the community, as they begin planning for the next 5 years!!

Be sure to complete a survey that will help them see how to better serve you. The survey can be found on their website at WSPLonline.org.

In addition, paper surveys are available at any WSPL branch or local post office. The deadline to submit is October 25th. You DON'T have to live in the Sullivan West school district, nor be a current library cardholder to participate.

An extra benefit of completing the survey? You will be entered into a drawing for a $50 gift certificate compliments of Agway. Any questions, please contact Library Director, Audra Everett, at (845) 482-4350.

On Sundays there is a farm stand right here in our hometown of Jeffersonville! Every Sunday, until November 1st, from 10a.m. to 1p.m. Wild Russet Farm will be next to the Jeffersonville Bake Shop on Main Street in Jeffersonville. (the big pink building) with fresh local produce and flowers available to our community from right up the hill!

Special thanks to Lauren and the Bake Shop for hosting them. This will be a prelude to a full-fledged farmers' market in the 2021 season. Help to spread the word and we hope to see you there!!

When the Tavern opens on Friday(today), they will have a new menu, new uniforms, and their private dining room will now be accessible from inside the main dining room...expanding their space so they may continue to welcome many guests AND socially distance now that the weather is turning. They are starting to take Thanksgiving pie orders online and in the bake shop in October!

Lorenzo's Bistro at 4887 State Rte 52 in Jeff will be offering a delicious Mexican Birria taco dinner special both Friday and Saturday nights from 4 p.m. until sold out !

Please let me know if you have any news to share!
