WHITE LAKE -- Ice fishing enthusiasts received more bad news last Friday when it was announced that the Sullivan County Conservation Club's annual King of the Ice event on White Lake has been canceled.

“After assessing the situation and consulting with the White Lake Fire Company, we have been advised to cancel this year's event,” the club said. “Safety is always our top priority, and the areas of thin ice and potentially open water present too much of a danger to those who would be participating. We hope to see everyone again next year!”
