Kris Prather and Kyle Troop both had solid second-round performances that allowed both bowlers to punch their tickets into the Men’s singles round of 32 at the International Bowling Federation World Cup at Suncity Tenpin Bowl on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia.
Prater was the first to advance as he bowled the earlier of the two men’s squads of the evening.
The powerful right-hander from Romeoville, Illinois, after shaking off the game 1 loss, went on to win three of his next four matches.
He is a member of the Roto Grip and Vise Grips pro staffs and as of January 2020 is a member of Team USA.
In addition to his five national PBA Tour titles, Prather has earned two PBA regional Tour Titles. He has rolled 28 certified 30 games, including five in PBA Tour competitions.
He was Rookie of the Year in 2015.
His wins include 5 PBA Tour victories (2 Majors).
Bowling Tip by Mike Luongo
Upper body position is the topic of this week’s tip.
Many bowlers worry too much about their steps and footwork, giving very little thought to their upper body position.
In the past, most new bowlers were told that you must use a four-step approach and this advice is wrong.
Bowlers come in a variety of different types, different flexibility and different lengths to their legs and arms.
In looking at the legends of the game we find that no two bowlers have the same style.
The most important thing is to get the bowler’s body in the correct position and here are the steps to follow:
1. Get your head over the ball.
2. The bowling shoulder should be tilted to the ball side.
3. Using this method the feel will go where they must so that you do not fall.
Getting the body in the correct position will improve your game and will help the bowler feel much more comfortable.
