October 5 - Hello, I am loving the cool weather and watching the trees turn colors. I got my pumpkins for my front stoop and I’m going apple picking next weekend.  Life is good. It’s so wonderful that there are events going on and you can get out and about.

Just a reminder, I am not the school tax collector, Doreen Hansen is. You can get in touch with her at (845) 482-4610 X 4115 and she will get back to you.

I went to the comedy show at Henning’s local last week. It was funny. It was a fundraiser for The Cochecton Democrats Club. I would like to thank Henning and his staff for a fabulous time and great burgers. I did have to explain to someone that my friend Kathy who I took with me, was married, and I am a widow (lol). We have been friends since 1st grade in Catholic school at St. Gregory’s of Bellerose, NY. We both live up here and work together.

Saturday, October 16: The Lake Huntington Ladies Aid will be holding their Penny Social. Doors open at 11:30  a.m., calling starts at 12:30 p.m., and donations are $1. MASKS are required. Refreshments served after calling. No food for sale this year. Please come out and support one of your local churches.

Tuesday, November 9: Lake Huntington Fire Company Blood Drive is being held at the Lake Huntington Fire House, 70 County Rd 116, Lake Huntington, from 1 p.m. -6 p.m. It’s time to rise up and be a hero, because the need has never been greater. Your donation has the power to save up to 3 lives. Please join the Lake Huntington Fire Co. and American Red Cross Eastern New York. Most medications will not disqualify you, sign up to save lives now. Plus, we’ll give you cookies. Setup an appointment online: http://tinyurl.com/ lhfcblooddrive.

Cochecton Youth Commission is having lots of events, please follow them on their Facebook page, New Cochecton Youth Commission.

Keep smiling and have a great week and you can e-mail me at leeniebeans@citlink.net or call (845) 252-3568 if you have any news. My new deadline is Friday’s.
