Hello, are you all busy shopping and getting ready for Christmas. I am almost finished. I have everything wrapped and ready to go. The holidays are just not the same as when you were a kid.

There was nothing like waking up on Christmas morning and the 5 of us trying to get down the stairs at the same time. The toys that were not wrapped were from Santa and the wrapped gifts (undie’s, socks, clothes) were from mommy and daddy. My dad worked 3 jobs and my mother was a stay at home mom, when we were in our teens, my mom became a home care health care person.

She took care of a family with 7 kids and the mom was dying of cancer. We would come home from school and the house would smell amazing with what she was cooking. Ma, what time is dinner, it smells great. This is not for you it’s for my other family. We all understood and ate what was leftover in the frig.

Supervisor Gary Maas attended the opening night of the The Gift of the Magii, at the Delaware Valley Opera at the Nutshell in Lake Huntington.

It was a well attended opening and I believe only my second opera. It was a big transformation of the dance hall to an opera stage with a very professional cast. I would tell everyone to take the opportunity to attend one of next year's operas, you won't be disappointed. So to all, have a safe and happy holiday!

I am sure the rest of you noticed that the for sale sign is not up at the old Pete’s Pub any more. I am thinking it was sold, not sure. It would be great to have a family restaurant open up again.

There is a lot going on in Lake Huntington, the new Opera House, and the Fosterdale Country Cafe located in Fosterdale is currently for sale privately by owner. Building is approximately 2,360 square feet, on a 1 acre parcel of land. Enormous commercial kitchen, with lots of additional space. The possibilities are truly endless. The Cochecton Youth Commission will have an opening on the board if you are interested, It is the first Tuesday of the month. You can give Sue a call (845) 866-0853 for more information.

I am going to have a big surprise for you next week. Keep smiling and have a great week and you can e-mail me at leeniebeans@citlink.net or call (845) 252-3568 if you have any news.
