These long winter months sure can be monotonous. We try to break things up a bit with dinners and lunches out in our local restaurants. Support small, support local! Here a few of our very own local establishments, you do not need to travel very far to get a good meal!

Annie’s Ruff Cut located at 90 Forman Road has the best specials and menu options. Choose from a half pound burger made from scratch, chicken wings, or fresh roast beef but be sure to save room for dessert, they always have an amazing selection. Visit Annie’s Ruff Cut online www.facebook.com/homeoftheroastbeef.

If pizza or Italian food is more your thing, visit Lakeview Pizza & Bar located at 23 Crestwood Road in Lake Huntington. The portions are large, and the food is delicious. From dinner selections like chicken parmesan to specialty heroes and garlic knots the choices are endless. The best part is you can order online from Slice Pizza (slicelife.com) and your order will be ready for you exactly when you want it! I like to order ahead of time and pick it up as we are headed home from sports practice or horse lessons. You can find Lakeview Pizza and Bar online as well at www.facebook.com/ Lakeview-Pizza-Bar-327487738042134.

Another choice is Cochecton Fire Station currently open for takeout. They are located at 1 Depot Road in Cochecton. Call ahead (845) 932-5141 to place your order. Choices include skirt steak, macaroni and cheese, Cuban corn and more. You can find their full menu at www.cochectonfirestation.com.

Henning’s Local located in Cochecton Center has earned rave reviews utilizing local produce, dairy and meats and fish. The menu includes choices of trout, duck, lamb and more. The cheese board is a delicious option to start your meal off right. Find Henning’s Local online henningslocal.com for full menu and hours of operations.

I will be doing a more in-depth look at these local restaurants above and more in the months to come. Support our local establishments and remember to tip your servers! We appreciate the ability to have a great meal without having to travel far especially during the snowy, icy winter months.

The WSPL (Western Sullivan Public Library) Take & Make Craft Kits: Each week the library will be putting together craft kits for you to take home and enjoy. Registration is required. All the kits are free for children under 10 and available for contactless pick-up at each branch while supplies last. Please sign up by Sunday each week (www.wsplonline.org). They also offer a Teen Take-Home Craft as well, registration required by January 31st.

If you have a local business that would like to be spotlighted in an upcoming column, please get in touch! Please email jenn@jennpowelldesigns.com with any news, events, and happenings.
