The weather is finally getting warmer and I for one cannot wait to get outdoors! It has been a long, icy winter and the sunshine sure does feel good! The Sullivan Catskills has so many things to do in warmer weather from river trips, hiking, and fishing to antiquing, wine/beer tasting and more.

Lander’s River Trips will be opening for the season the weekend of April 30. Be sure to explore your own backyard this year with a river trip on the Delaware River. They offer kayaks, canoes, rafts and tubes for the whole family – dogs too! For more information find them online at landersrivertrips.com

Here are a few upcoming local events!

The Cochecton Youth Commission is hosting a make your own Pizza Event on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 12:30pm at the Lakeview Pizzeria in Lake Huntington. Sign-ups for this event will be on Tuesday, April 5th, from 6:30-7 pm at the lower level of the Cochecton Town Hall. If you have any questions, please text Val at (570) 493- 7882. This program is funded in full or in part by the Sullivan County Youth Bureau.

Join the Easter Bunny and The Cochecton’s Men Club at the Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 16th at 1:00 PM at the Cochecton’s Men’s Sport Complex.

Enrollment is now open for River Rep Arts Center’s Spring Classes for youth and adults, starting on April 3. River Rep Arts Center is located in Callicoon, NY. Some of the classes they are offering are youth acting, acting for teens, acting for adults, dance basics and creative exploration, tai chi and more. Mark your calendars and spread the word for the Annual Delaware Youth Center River Run scheduled for July 24, 2022. More information to follow on their website - https://www.delawareyouthcenter.org

The Lake Huntington Fire Department would like to remind us all to clean your chimneys this Spring to prevent fires in your home.

As a reminder, the New York State outdoor burn ban is in effect from March 16 – May 14, 2022.
