There are so many local events and happenings this fall. Be sure to check out some of the fun things that are going on in our community.

There will be a Penny Social on October 15 at the Lake Huntington Presbyterian Church (Rte 116, Lake Huntington, NY). Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and calling starts at 12:30. Hot dogs, sauerkraut, and beverages available for purchase after calling. For a $1 entry fee, sponsored by The Ladies Aide Society. Any questions, please call Vicky Krauss at 845-932-8923.

Also on October 15, The Cacklin’ Hen (4054 State Route 52, Youngsville, NY) is hosting a Fall Fest from 12-4 p.m. Tickets are $12 which includes pumpkin picking, pumpkin painting, face painting, music, arts and crafts, games with fun for the whole family. Tickets can be purchased at The Cacklin’ Hen.

The Narrowsburg Chamber of Commerce presents Logging Days, Celebrating our Heritage on Saturday, October 15. This free, family-friendly event will feature the New York State Lumberjack Association Lumberjack Contest on the riverfront with the iconic Narrowsburg Bridge as a backdrop. There will be 10 different competitive events beginning at 11 am and wrapping up around 5pm.

The day will be filled with other interests for attendees such as an expanded vendor market, musical performances, a baking contest, beard & mustache contest, a kids’ activities area, and educational lectures related to wood and forests to name a few. The Cochecton Youth Group is looking for volunteers in our community who would like to decorate a trunk and hand out treats during our fall event on October 29th at 11 a.m. This event is open to children who live in the Town of Cochecton and whom have pre-registered only; however, you do not need to have children participating to hand out goodies! If you are interested in helping to make our event successful and would love to see our youth dressed up in their Halloween costumes, please contact Heather Neidert at 845-796-6976 or heatherneidert@me.com. The Cochecton Train Station, Cochecton Preservation Society October Raffle is on sale. A $5 ticket gives you 90 chances to win during the month of October. Drawing is based on the NY Evening daily lottery. If your number is drawn you win $50, Friday is $100. If you have one number up or below number drawn, you win a consolation prize of $10.
