Rain, rain go away! Bring on the warmer temperatures and long, warm days please. It seems like we blinked, and March & April were over and now we are into May. Mother’s Day is coming up, so be sure to plan something nice for those mother-figures in your life.

Here are a few upcoming local events that are happening in our community and nearby towns.

If your child needs tutoring this Summer, Lisa Hoffman will be offering 6 weeks of tutoring at The Cochecton Men’s Club in the church. Please call or text to set up a program for your child by Monday, June 12th. Text- 570-229-4783 or call 570-224-6934. The summertime is the best time to close the gap and be ready for the school year.

TOWN OF COCHECTON 2023 Spring Clean-up for Town of Cochecton residents will be held on May 20 and 21, from 9 AM – 2:45 PM. Items may be brought to the Cochecton Town Hall, CR 116, Lake Huntington, NY. Acceptable items include Household junk, Bulky waste (furniture, mattresses, carpets, etc.); Iron pipes must be cut to 4-foot lengths; Drums and tanks must be empty and cut open or crushed; Paint or tar cans must be empty and dry; NO full or partially full cans of paint, NO commercial dumping. NO household garbage, NO yard waste, leaves, stumps, roots, or rocks.

NO HAZARDOUS WASTE: petroleum products, pesticides, or propane tanks. NO Computers/monitors, Television sets (all display types). NO Fluorescent Bulbs/Lamps. The Town of Cochecton will be accepting 4 tires per household, regular car and truck tires at no cost, cost will be $3.00 per tire after the 4th tire. No oversized tires are allowed. This program is made possible by the Sullivan County Legislature along with the Division of Public Works and Solid Waste and the Town of Cochecton.

Sullivan West Central School District Budget is on Tuesday, May 16, from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Locations: Delaware Youth Center, Tusten Public Library, Jeffersonville Public Library (new polling location). Any questions please email budget@swcsd.org

The Jeffersonville Fire Department is holding a pasta dinner to support John McCormack on Friday, May 19th at the Jeffersonville Fire Station from 5-8 PM. Registered runners of the 5K Sap Run eat free.
