Lake Huntington - June 2

Hello, hope you all had a nice weekend. I was at my friends place on Lake Huntington last week and what a beautiful place to hang out. The lake was so pretty. It was nice to see people out on boats and jet skies enjoying it.

Bob and Barbara Drollinger were one of the first people I met when I moved to Sullivan County. We met through St. Francis Xavier Church. Barbara was president of The Ecumenical Food Pantry, with a strong crew behind her. Barbara was the type of person who listens and steps up to the plate and helps them in need.

In our community people need help besides just food, they needed help paying bills, clothes, and car repairs. Barbara with the help of Fr. Tom Jones 16 years ago opened The St. Francis Outreach Program. In later years Barbara had Fr. Bill and Fr. Dennis to help her help others. The outreach program is funded by donations. Barbara was the middle person who hooked you up.

Do not get me wrong there are guidelines, 1099 proof, rules and board members that have to approve the spending. If you are helped by the outreach program is it a capped amount and a onetime payout. I am telling you this because Barbara Drollinger is stepping down and handing the torch to Al Smith.

I would personally like to thank Barbara and her husband Bob. You know he was put to work, picking up furniture delivering clothes and being Barbara's sidekick, for their many years of helping our community. Barbara and Bob would like to thank everyone who supported the outreach, they enjoyed their time, but it is time to step back and enjoy life. If you would like to make a donation to The St. Francis Outreach, the mailing address is PO Box 8, Narrowsburg, NY 12764. If you would like to give Al Smith a call his number is (845) 252-7547.
