I write this with a very heavy heart. September 1st, 1990, I married my best friend, the love of my life, 30 years ago. He died at 24 ½ years married, we were together for 33 years. We used to always watch our wedding video on our anniversary and say, “he's dead, she's dead,” but now since my Tommy is dead I'm not watching it this year.

September 1st is also when the School Tax bill comes in the mail. I am the Town of Cochecton property tax collector, not the Sullivan West Central School Tax Collector.

Let me give you some information if you are making a payment by mail send your ENTIRE BILL and check to the address listed below, or if paying installments, send the stub for the payment that is due.

Please write your Section, Block and Lot # on your check (i.e.: 20.-1-16.5) these numbers can be found on the right side, near the top of your bill. Mail Payments to: Sullivan West Central School Tax Collector, PO Box 2205, Buffalo, NY 14240-2205.

Make sure your payment is for the correct amount and that your check is signed. If this is near the end of the month, this may result in a higher interest charge, according to the date postmarked. Postage Meter will NOT be accepted, go into the post office and get your stamp canceled.

Interest Schedule: September 1 thru Sept. 30-Par; October 1 thru Oct. 31-2%; November 1 thru Nov. 2-3%.

The collection warrant is for 63 days and expires on November 2, 2020; at which time the undersigned can no longer receive payment. You must bring your entire tax bill when making payment to: Jeff Bank in Jeffersonville Saturdays, September 12, 19, and 26 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.

If you no longer own this property, please forward the bill to the rightful owner or return it to the tax collector with the new owners' name and address.

For questions regarding payment of your bill, please contact: Sullivan West Central School Tax Collector, (845) 482-4610 ext. 4115.

For questions about your assessed value please contact Lorry King, town assessor, (845) 932-8360 x 12. You get to start the year off giving me money when the town tax bills are mailed out.

If you have any information that you would like to get out there send me an email.

Keep smiling and have a great week and you can e-mail me at leeniebeans@
