This year’s Liberty Indians’ varsity softball squad is a young group. With only one senior, and without a junior varsity program in the two years prior, there is much these talented young ladies still have to learn. More experienced division rival James I. O’Neill rolled into town on Thursday, beating Liberty 15-5. Liberty senior Rebecca Philips (pictured firing a pitch) struck out four O’Neill batters. On the offensive side, Liberty’s Lorna DeWitt had an RBI double while Grace Wormuth had a single, RBI and run scored. Also pictured is Liberty’s Quinn Allen at the plate. With the loss, the Lady Indians record is now 1-13 (1-2 OCIAA).
