TOWN OF ROCKLAND

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED LOCAL LAW

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that there has been introduced before the Town Board of the Town of Rockland in the County of Sullivan and State of New York, introductory Local Law No. 4 of the Year 2021, entitled "A local law adopted pursuant to Cannabis Law Section 131 opting out of licensing and establishing retail cannabis dispensaries and on-site cannabis consumption establishments within the Town of Rockland, Sullivan County, New York." Adoption of the proposed local law will exercise the local option of the Town of Rockland, pursuant to New York State Cannabis Law Section 131, to opt-out of licensing and establishing cannabis retail dispensaries and cannabis on-site consumption establishments within its boundaries. If adopted, such local law shall be subject to permissive referendum governed by Section 24 of the New York State Municipal Home Rule Law.

A copy of the aforesaid local law is on file with the Town Clerk of the Town of Rockland, Sullivan County, New York, where the same may be examined.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that, pursuant to §20 of the Municipal Home Rule Law, a public hearing will be held on the aforesaid local law before the Town Board of the Town of Rockland, Sullivan County, New York, at the Town of Rockland Town Hall, 95 Main Street, Livingston Manor, New York, at 7:00 p.m., prevailing time, on December 2, 2021, at which time all interested persons will be heard.
