On May 12, 2022 God decided to take Leo Charles Ellmauer in his arms and said “Come with me.” 

Born in Liberty, NY on November 6, 1939 to the late William and Alice Hardenburgh Ellmauer, he was a young 82-year-old. He grew up on the family farm in Youngsville, NY and then continued on his “quest in life.”

He joined the U.S. Army and served most of his tour in Germany. After serving he worked for Killian Transfer, Sullivan County Wholesalers, Liberty Middletown Express until closing and then Granite Associates in Liberty, NY from which he retired. He was a retired member of Teamsters Union Local #445.

Leo was a “Jack of all trades,” he loved to tell about his “Life Experiences.” He was a hard worker and had many hobbies. He always said something to make you smile or laugh.

Leo’s survivors include his wife of 56 years, Carol Wehner Elllmauer; his twin brother, Lee C. Ellmauer (Barbara) of Youngsville, NY; his sisters: Mary Ardizzone of Jeffersonville, NY, Alice Elberth (Wayne) of Neversink, NY, Lillian Hanslmaier (George) of New Berlin, NY and Sally Eronimous (Tom) of Swan Lake, NY; and a sister-in-law, Barbara Wehner of Lancaster, NY. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents, his in-laws Howard and Myrtle Wehner, his infant son and brothers-in-law, Howard Wehner, Jr. and Art Ardizzone. 

Calling house were held on on Monday, May 16, 2022 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home Jeffersonville, NY. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Virginia Bossley will officiate. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery, Youngsville, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Youngsville Fire Department, Jeffersonville Volunteer First Aid Squad or to the charity of one’s choice.
