LIBERTY – The Lady Indians got their first win of the young softball season in a big way, defeating rival Fallsburg 30-7 in five innings.
All nine Liberty starters scored multiple runs in the win. Quinn Allen went 3-5 with a double, four RBIs and three runs scored. Arianna Wilson added two hits with four RBIs and three runs. Grace Wormuth finished 2-3 with two walks, three RBIs and scored four times.
Angie Wheeler earned her first varsity win, pitching all five innings and giving up four hits and striking out seven.
Allison Perna had three hits for Fallsburg, scored a run and drove in two more in the loss. The league win was Liberty’s first of the season and brought their overall record to 1-1 (1-0).

Softball
Tri-Valley opened up their season with a 9-1 win over Livingston Manor on Tuesday afternoon. Jenna Carmody led the way with a complete game, striking out eight and holding the Wildcats to just four hits.
Emily Rusin went 3-4 with two doubles and a single for Tri-Valley. Jenna Carmody and Kaitlin Stungis each contributed a triple.
Mackenzie Carlson pitched for Livingston Manor and struck out 14 in the loss.
Seward blanked Eldred 12-0 in their season opener, with Kailey Stolowski throwing a complete game 2-hitter for the Spartans. Bryn Greenfield and Molly McKerrell netted the two Eldred hits in their season opening loss.
Baseball
Monticello is off to a 2-2 start after defeating Liberty and Fallsburg to start the season. In their two subsequent games, Valley Central and Beacon got the better of the Panthers, winning 10-0 and 13-1 respectively.
