Callicoon

To the editor:

I am an author living in Callicoon, and I count on the library for a writing refuge. It's crucial to have access to a quiet, free place to work outside the home.

As a 2021 literary fellow I was able to engage with my community and fulfill my fellowship agreement through the library’s podcast series program. The library is an essential partner that supports my connection to my community and without it I would be isolated in my work and less productive. I cannot imagine living in this area without the library, its dedicated staff, and the programs they provide.

So, stop in at your local branch, meet the library staff, get a card, check out a movie or a book –and by the way, to help us out in hard times, Western-Sullivan Public Library no longer collects late-return fines. Please come on down April 20th to vote on the annual budget!
