Manuel E. Melendez, the son of Carmen Corretjer Pagan, was born July 16, 1941 in Manati, Puerto Rico where he was raised. 

“Manny” eventually made his way to the Catskills (Monticello, NY) where he had a successful 41 years working for The Concord Hotel as a Chauffeur and another 16 years for the local Walmart. Manny had a very humble, modest upbringing and was always available to help others. He loved all people and loved his family.  

He is survived by his sons: Jose, Jesus Rafael, Alex, Steve and Nick, brothers, daughters-in-law, nephews and grandsons. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, brother-in-law and brother.  

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 9, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway, Monticello. 

His Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church, 10 Liberty St, Monticello. Burial will then follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Monticello.
