Margaret V. Bunting, known to her family and friends as “Peggy” passed away Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Hope Hospice of Cape Coral, FL.

She was born December 3, 1939 in Rotterdam, NY to Raymond Vitch Sr. and Josephine Pasquariello.

Peggy was a longtime resident of Roscoe, NY. She worked on the cafeteria staff at Roscoe Central School for many years and retired as an accountant. She moved to Matlacha, FL as a full time resident in 1998 where she loved to sit and watch the water, sunsets, sea birds and dolphins from her backyard. She was a very active member of the Pine Island Moose Lodge where she held numerous offices as well as Chaplin. When the lodge building was lost to hurricane Charlie in 2004, Peggy was a large part of the recovery of the chapter. As senior Regent she worked to organize many fundraisers to help with the costs of rebuilding as well as events for the children on the island.

Peggy is survived by her longtime companion, Dave Manion;  one brother, Roland Vitch and his wife Sandra, and her three children Margaret Ebert and her husband Elias, Maryanne Mootz and her husband Russell, and Merlin Brock and his wife Jennifer. She also had nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, one brother, Raymond Vitch; one sister, Penny Costello; and a daughter, Nora Brock who died as an infant.

Visitation and services will be held Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 1 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Ave., Roscoe, NY. The Rev. Bridgette LeConey will officiate.

Memorial contributions can be made in Peggy’s name to The Pine Island Moose Lodge 1954 at 8903 Stringfellow Rd., St James City, FL 33956.
