Marie Field McCarron, a retired veterinary technician and lifelong lover of animals, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 16, 2025. She was 76.
Born on July 14, 1948, in Greenwich, Connecticut, Marie was the daughter of the late Edward T. McCarron and Norma Field McCarron.
Marie dedicated many years to her work as a veterinary technician. Before that, she became a part of local history. In the late 1960’s she was hired as the very first employee of Cuisinart, where the iconic brand opened its first store in Greenwich, CT. Her contributions there helped shape the early success of a company that would become a household name.
Known affectionately as “Aunt Cookie” by those closest to her, Marie was known for her sharp sense of humor. She loved yard sales, supported numerous charities, and had a special place in her heart for causes that helped animals and people in need.
She is survived by her beloved cousins Edith (Dee) DeCarlo, Linda Horton; her second cousins Justine DeCarlo and Joe Sinistorie and their families; as well as many loving friends. She was predeceased by her parents.
A memorial visitation to honor Marie will be held on Tuesday, June 3, from 5-7:00 p.m. at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello with a memorial service beginning at 6:30 p.m.
