Town Justice, Town of Thompson, Incumbent

Since 1996 it has been my honor and privilege to serve our community as your Town Justice. I am seeking your support for re-election. The Town of Thompson Court is one of the busiest justice courts in our state. In the past twenty-five years, I have responded to thousands of matters, each important to our community and those directly involved, whether it is a civil or criminal proceeding, or a joyous event, a wedding.

A graduate of Monti High, Cornell and SUNY Buffalo Law I grew up in our community returning home with my spouse to raise our family.

As Justice my commitment includes 20+ years as Secretary-Treasurer of the Sullivan County Magistrates Association, membership in the New York Magistrates Association, and when there was in-person training of judges, as an instructor with the Office of Court Administration. This followed years of teaching in the SCCC paralegal program.

As a professional, my community service includes serving as Monticello’s Village Attorney and Thompson’s Deputy Town Attorney, and counsel to other communities. Prior to becoming Town Justice, I was President and a director of the Sullivan County Legal Aid Society; and am currently counsel to the Federation for the Homeless and ABC Sullivan (formerly our county’s Habitat for Humanity chapter).

Professional affiliations include the Sullivan County Bar Association (former President), the New York, Florida and American Bar Associations.

I am a long time member of the Monticello Rotary Club and a past president.

Re-elect me as your Town Justice and I will continue to do my best to continue to serve you and our community as a Justice acting impartially, fairly responding to our community’s need. Thank you for your past support and I ask for your vote this year.
