The almighty has called home Mary Lou Lacey who passed away quietly, on Sunday October 5th, 2025 at the Sullivan County Adult Care Center at Sunset Drive in Liberty, NY. She was born on December 29th, 1939 to the late Maggie Pearl Lusk and Dale Farquhar in Robstown, Texas.

Born and raised in Sweetwater, Texas, a licensed nurse in three states, Texas, Pennsylvania and New York. She retired from the Monticello Central School District as the head cook. A Sunday School Teacher and an avid Little League volunteer, as well as the lead cook at Camp Lakota in Wurtsboro, NY.

A devoted wife of 62 years that loved her sons and grandchildren. A die hard “ Yankees Fan” and a love of her flower gardens. The holidays where always a special time with decorating the home that she accomplished with great pride and joy.

Survivors include one son John D. Lacey of Wurtsboro, NY. Four grandchildren, John D. Lacey and his wife Jamie of Wurtsboro, NY, Kaitlin Lacey and Romar of Hurleyville, NY, Nicole Lacey of Niles, OH and Autumn Lacey of Brick, NJ. Three great-grandchildren, Elian and Aziel Caraballo of Hurleyville, NY and Olivia Lacey of Wurtsboro, NY.

She was preceded in death by her son Robert E. Lacey, her sister Sharon Stearns Farquhar and brothers Clarence and Henry Dale Farquhar.

A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, October 13th, 2025 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, at the VanInwegen Kenny Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan St, Wurtsboro, NY. Her memorial funeral service will follow at 4:00pm with Pastor Mike Carter officating.
