Michele Frazier Endorsed by United Auto Workers

New York State – Michele Frazier, candidate for New York State Senate District 51, announced today that she has received the endorsement of the United Auto Workers (UAW) Region 9, a union representing workers in the automotive, aerospace and steel industries.

“UAW is a leader when it comes to the fight for living wages and the rights of working people,” Frazier said. “I am honored to have the support of their members who make the cars we drive and the helicopters that transport our military. In Albany, I will always stand up for the hardworking people of rural New York.”

Frazier recently joined striking UAW workers at Cornell University to support their fight for decent wages. Frazier is running against Republican Peter Oberacker who has consistently voted against worker protections.

In addition to those who work at Cornell, UAW Region 9 members make doors, quarter panels, hoods, fenders and other stamped parts for Ford F-150, 250 and 350 trucks, Flex, Edge, Focus, Econoline vehicles, and for Lincoln MKX and MKTs. Members also build the V-22 Osprey troop transport helicopter and the Chinook medium-lift helicopter.

Michele Frazier grew up in her family’s flower and greenhouse business in Oneonta - one of the largest geranium growers in the state. A former Oneonta City Council member, Michele now lives in Delhi where she is an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice at SUNY Delhi. She lives with her spouse and three sons, two of whom are neurodivergent. Michele is also a Real Estate Agent for a locally owned real estate company. www.michelefrazierfor51.com
