Not a traditional Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving Day 2020 will probably not be that traditional holiday we always enjoyed celebrating.

As our nation (according to what our news media tells us) is setting record daily totals of new coronavirus cases there are some giving warnings that it might be time to cancel Thanksgiving plans.

It tends to get very sad and one hopes the idea or thought to cancel Thanksgiving comes from a political angel instead of reality and what this holiday really means to families.

The pandemic right now is said to be hitting high volumes.

So the question comes up should we rethink traditional Thanksgiving celebrations?

Some have offered the conclusion that it will be safer to stay at home and cancel family Thanksgiving get together's.

Now this sort of sounds like the Thanksgiving equivalent of Ebeneezer Scrooge.

There is no reason why a safe Thanksgiving is not possible and many so called experts say by playing it safe there is no need to cancel Thanksgiving.

One of the first suggestions being touted is the suggestion that folks should avoid gathering with people outside their households.

Guest lists for indoor dinners should be small enough so people can sit six feet apart while unmasked and eating.

There is no need to cancel the holiday as spending time with loved ones is important for health too.

Be safe and enjoy a blessed Happy Thanksgiving.
