Patricia A. “Nanna Pat” Dirie of Hortonville, NY, a retired Corrections Officer for the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department and a longtime area resident, died Monday, October 13, 2025 at the Garnet Health Hospital-Grover Hermann Division in Callicoon, NY. She was 84.

The daughter of the late Alexander and Helene Bernas Luning, she was born January 17, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY.

After retiring from the County, Pat worked at her daughter-in-law’s Child Care Center. She enjoyed time spent with the children.

Survivors include three sons, Jay Dirie and his companion Danielle of Hortonville, NY, Michael Dirie and his wife Tonya of Hortonville, NY, and Arthur Dirie of So. Carolina; two daughters, Wendy Adams of Callicoon Center, NY and Wanda Weigelt of Smallwood, NY; two sisters, Suzanne Stetka of VA and Helene Indelicato of Cochecton Ctr., NY; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, John Dirie, a brother, Alexander Luning, a granddaughter, Tobi Misner Marold; and great-grandson, Travis Canfield.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 10AM-1PM in the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Ave., Roscoe, NY.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 1 PM in the funeral home. Pastor Ginny Bossley will officiate.

Burial will be in the Hortonville Cemetery, Hortonville, NY.
