Patricia Ann Lindsay Horton, Wurtsboro, NY passed away on April 28, 2025, at The Grover M Hermann Division of Garnet Health Medical Center in Callicoon, NY.
Patricia was born in Middletown, NY to Franklin and Doris Lindsay of Wurtsboro, NY on November 20, 1942. She grew up in Wurtsboro, NY and attended Monticello High School. She married Benjamin Horton on Sept 17, 1961. They settled back at the Horton Farm in Bloomingburg, NY where they started and raised their family.
She worked as a Medical Receptionist for Dr. Greenberg of Monticello and Dr. Tainsky in Wurtsboro, NY until he retired after which she worked as a store clerk in Steinbach’s in the Orange Plaza Middletown.
She was a member of the Community Church of Wurtsboro, NY and while she could not attend services, she enjoyed listening by phone as often as she could. She was a past member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Bloomingburg FD and the Mamakating First Aid Squad.
She was known for her cooking and especially her chocolate chip cookies. She cherished the memories of the road trips with her husband and their time at Long Lake.
While mom could not get around as well as she would have liked in the later years, she always managed to keep in touch with a phone call or a greeting card to everyone she loved and cared about.
Patrica is survived by her daughter Diana Duffy (Steven) of Hortonville, NY, her sons Benjamin (Shannon) Horton of Roanoke, VA, James (Julie) Horton of Ringgold, GA, her 15 grandchildren: Kyle (Natalie) and Connor (Kaitlin) Duffy; Kelle Hufcut; Josh (Desi), Dylan (Mindy) and Ryanne (RJ) Horton; Jacob (Alexandria), Devon (Diana) and Alexander Brouillard; Morgan Murphy; Liam Jahn; James Robert (Kat), Faith and Blake Horton, and her 12 great-grandchildren.
Also survived by her sister Joan Roe of Middletown, NY. Her sister-in-law Barbara Barber of Wurtsboro, NY. Her sons-in-law Michael Hufcut and Robert Murphy. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and countless extended families who considered her a second mom.
She was reunited in death with her husband Benjamin M. Horton, her daughters Denise Brouillard and Nancy Hufcut; and her grandson Michael Hufcut.
Private Interment will be at the Horton Family Plot in Bloomingburg Cemetery. A Celebration of Pat’s Life will be held at a later date.
Dignified cremation will be overseen by Harris Funeral Home, Roscoe, NY.
