Paul J. Durland of Crossville, TN, formerly of Rock Hill, NY, died on Monday, September 12, 2022 after a brief illness. He was 71 years old.

The son of the late Donald H. and Dolores Wolfe Durland, he was born April 24, 1951 in Middletown, NY. He was predeceased by his wife, Stephanie Hogan and brother, Scott Durland.

Paul loved bowling for many years at Kiamesha Lanes, hunting at the Hi-Lo Hunting Club, and most recently golfing and kayaking in Lake Tansi, TN. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a proud member of the fire service. He joined Monhagen Hose Company of the Middletown Fire Department in 1969, where he served as President from 1985-1986. He was probably best known for his 30+ years of service with the Rock Hill Volunteer Fire Department where he served as Chief in 1999 and 2000.

Survivors include his children Becky (George) Belcher of Rock Hill, NY, Donald (Brittany) Durland of Gallatin, TN, James (Jenell) Durland of Waymart, PA and Sarah Durland of Spartanburg, SC; two sisters, Donnalee Durland of Wolf Lake, NY and Amanda DeRosia of Murfreesboro, TN; two granddaughters Stephanie and Caitlin Belcher; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Rock Hill Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 116, Rock Hill, NY 12775.
