ELLENVILLE — Shadowland Stages is thrilled to announce a special staged reading of  The Road to Jerusalem, written by Nicky Glossman. This exclusive event, featuring esteemed actors Tony Shalhoub, David Strathairn, and Jay O. Sanders, is scheduled for Saturday, February 17, at 7 pm at Shadowland’s MainStage Theatre, located at 157 Canal Street in Ellenville. All proceeds from the evening will support Shadowland Stages, a symbol of artistic excellence in the Hudson Valley for 39 years.

The Road to Jerusalem follows seven interconnected stories surrounding the small town of Jerusalem, Arizona in 1889. Together, they explore the twisted series of hopes and hungers that manifested a harsh destiny in the American West, all in the service of making a new world from the old. Salvation or damnation, each must find their own way to walk on the Road to Jerusalem.

Joining the cast are Tony Shalhoub, David Strathairn and Jay O. Sanders.  Shalhoub, a Tony Award-winning actor, made his Broadway debut in The Odd Couple, and has subsequently starred in The Heidi Chronicles, Conversations with My Father, Lend Me a Tenor, Golden Boy, Act One, The Price and The Band’s Visit. With notable roles in “The Bourne Ultimatum” and “Lincoln,”  David Strathairn is an Emmy-winning and Oscar-nominated actor. His extensive theatre background includes performances on Broadway and off-Broadway in productions such as The Tempest and The Birth of Party. Jay O. Sanders is a veteran actor known for his roles in “The Day After Tomorrow” and “Green Lantern.” Sanders has a rich career in film, television, and theatre. His recent work includes Conor McPherson’s Broadway hit Girl from the North Country.  The reading will be directed by James Glossman, who most recently directed the world premiere of Just Another Day at Shadowland.

Tickets for this one-night-only reading are available for a suggested donation of $40.00. To secure your seats, you can purchase tickets through the Shadowland Stages box office. For reservations, please contact (845) 647-5511, or conveniently reserve your seats online at shadowlandstages.org.
