To the editor:

The Sullivan/Ramada Hotel in Rock Hill has been sold to the Hamaspik Resort.

This evening, March 24th there was a Town of Thompson planning board meeting to discuss the changes which the new owners plan to make, which are substantial.

Requests include building a 25,000 square foot building, adding an outdoor swimming pool and three mobile homes plus 20 additional acres.

Several neighbors and I were looking forward to listening to the meeting, but when we went to Zoom, we're informed that the meeting was full at 100.

Surely such major requests should have ensured that more than 100 people would have access to the board's discussion!

Going forward, how can we be guaranteed that we will be able to participate in a public hearing? This is a grave concern to us in Rock Hill; we are truly concerned about the lack of transparency so far.
