Richard M. Mirch, 84 years old, of Long Eddy, NY, passed away at Garnet Hospital in Callicoon, NY, surrounded by his family.

Richard, who was known to all as Dick, was born on September 17, 1938 in Hancock, NY. He graduated High School from St. Johns in Pittston, PA. After graduation, he joined the Army where he served in Okinawa, Japan, until his honorable discharge. He came back to the Long Eddy area where he met his wife of 60 years, Rosann Haight.

Dick and Rosann moved to Wycoff, NJ, where he worked as a heavy equipment operator while operating a stone business on the side. When the opportunity arose to purchase Tompkins Bluestone in 1981, Dick and Rosann moved the family “home” to Long Eddy where he worked everyday right up until his final illness.

Along with his wife, Dick is survived by four sons: Michael (Melissa), William (Barbara), Richard (Roxanne), and Kenneth (Susan); grandchildren: Richard, Jordan, Devin, Ryan, Vanessa, Emily, Jared, Michaela, and Kenneth Jr; and also Shaun (Rebecca) Radley and Stacey (Michael)  Chmura; 2 sisters, Jean (Bill) Kiesinger and Ethel (Marty) Panek, and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Garnet Hospital in Callicoon, who treated Dick and his entire family, for their care and kindness.
